So what does one do when there were no yard sales to attend the previous weekend? Why, go lunch time thrifting, of course! Seriously, if my lunchtime thrift shop should ever move, I’d be heartbroken!
I saw this tiny cobalt blue cream pitcher on the shelf and knew that for 75 cents, it was coming on home with me. It turns out to be by Diversified Ceramics and is called a Ranch Creamer, #35, 5 1/2 ounce Cobalt creamer. I love the color.
I also happened upon two very sticky blue and white transfer plates. The first is Melody by Myott and the other Harmony House Wisteria. They were also 75 cents each. A little soak and some scrubbing and they now look much happier.
The white ceramic shell napkin rings were just a perfect addition to my collection. I have been trying to find more thrifted classic beachy items to add to my stash. I realized that I was lacking items in this decorating theme and so I am attempting to correct that. These were a deal for $1.75, don’t you think?
Another sweep of the shelves and this cobalt blue teapot appeared. Most days at this thrift they are constantly putting new things on the shelf so you really do have check them twice (or more) depending on how long you’ve been shopping. There are no markings on this little gal, but her color and shape are what drew me to her. She does go nicely with the little creamer, too. She was a bit pricey for me at $5.75. I reasoned that she is one of my favorite colors and will get along very well with so many of my blue and white dishes. Plus, she’s a real workhorse; this gal can serve some hot tea and that’s for sure.
Percolating in my wee brain is a tea scape using the Curious George tea set I picked up earlier (here). I have been looking for a Curious George book, but to no avail. This week I found an ornament and still in the box no less. There was no doubt that for 75 cents this guy was heading home with me.
After checking me out, the very sweet clerk, Diana, asked me if while shopping I had seen some really pretty napkins with rings? Why, no, I did not. She thought I would love them, so she volunteered to show me their location. She found two cream napkins with beaded napkin rings, but she thought there were more so I could dig around for them. Well dig I did, but none showed up. I had that pesky thing called Work to get back to so I had to give up the search. I did purchase these and Diana said she would let me know if she found any others. Can’t beat that kind of service!
And lest you think I only shop for myself (well, mostly I do), I did find an All-Clad 3 quart colander/strainer for my daughter as well as another Pyrex pie plate. Yeppers, that strainer set me back $1.75. Not bad when it retails new at over $50. Did I tell you that I just love to shop the thrifts?

That was a great thrift store experience. I love those seashell napkin rings. This summer blogs have introduced me to white things – and now I’m on the lookout for more to add to my small collection. I only have a few beachy things, too, but I hope to find some more before summer’s end.

Great finds Tammy! The two blue and white plates are so pretty. And I love the seashell napkin rings! Thanks for joining TTF and have a fun weekend!
Just read this and your newer post. You did great! I would have snatched those shell napkin rings from you! 🙂
Here I live at the beach and have not done one scape with a beach theme this summer! I must do it if we aren’t blown away by Irene. They say it is heading towards Long Island where I live. 😦
Lovely thrift finds! Just wanted to pass along the suggestion that Goo Gone works great on getting the stickies and labels off gently. I buy mine at the dollar tree, use it for my thrift finds and my doll boxes….
